|02:10 am - We Have A Winner|
The transhumanist SF RPG Eclipse Phase just won the 2010 Origins best RPG award. While I've heard a fair amount of criticism in the past about the Origins Awards, I'm still pleased that a game I worked on won, especially a game that I like so much. I'm equally pleased that it's now completely free from the clutches of Catalyst Games and their exceedingly dubious finances and is now being put out by Sandstorm productions. In any case, this is the 2nd Origins Award for an RPG that I've helped write, the first being the Star Trek The Next Generation RPG by Last Unicorn Games, which won in 1999. I'm amused that I wrote gadgets and tech for both games. However, I also wrote a bunch of setting material for Eclipse Phase.
Current Mood: pleased
The captain of the Black Paw hereby extends his congratulations as well. ;)

Also, nice that there's a new publisher - I've been waiting for additional material, even though I don't have time or energy to run it...

Congratulations! That's nifty!
AWESOME! And thanks for mentioning Eclipse Phase--I need to get back to work on my EP novel Song of Myselves.
