02:01 pm - Lovely chains from a skilled and very nice person
As a combined Christmas and B-Day present, I got teaotter a silver ankle chain in the same style as the one I've been wearing on my left wrist for the past 9 years. It arrived yesterday, and I didn't feel like waiting, so I gave it to her, and she was very pleased.

However, what I'm most interested in writing about is the source of the chain. 11 or 12 years ago, when Aaron was going to lots of craft shows, he and I encountered a woman making and selling handmade silver chains. They were quite lovely, and I very much admired them. When I first started doing well in the RPG industry, I used some of my payment to buy myself a chain that I have largely not taken off since then.

I naturally looked for her work when Becca mentioned she wanted an ankle chain. Here's the website for The Chainmaker. I got myself a sterling sliver medium chain that's referred to at different point on this site as a grandfather or byzantine chain. So, when I wanted to order a chain for Becca, I called up Ms Moss, left a message on her machine with my name and number. When she called back, she was exceptionally helpful. I had thought (being unable to see the exact size on the site) that I my chain was a large chain (and not a medium) and when I ordered it, she mentioned that my previous chain had been a medium chain (thus saving me $10 and also making for a better gift). I also ordered the chain last Wednesday, and the chain arrived yesterday (Monday). In any case, Ms Moss has greatly expanded her selection of chains since I last saw her at a craft fair and I highly recommend if you ever have any need for a handmade silver or gold chain to purchase it from this exceptionally skilled and very nice person.
