|02:53 am - Another month, another project|
A few minutes ago, I sent in my final turnover for my D&D 4E project for WOTC. It's not my usual sort of thing, but I very much enjoyed most of the project, as well as a chance to look at D&D 4E. It's more different from D&D 3.5 than I expected, and has a number of very cool features. Next month, I write 30,000 words for Exalted, on a very nice project, including one part that I've wanted a chance to fiddle with for several years.
Current wordcount since January 1, 2008: 82,000.
Current Mood: pleased
I've gotta ask, as those of us here have a 3.5 game going, and there is a lot of speculation re 4E (most of is negative) how different is it,and how closely does it resemble 1st or 2nd Ed? I remember when Star Wars Saga Edition came out, transitioning characters over was... interesting.

NiTessine comments over at Worlds in a Handful of Dice
that "by the designers’ own admission, the rules of the new game will be so different from the current edition that conversion will not be recommended, and unlike with the second edition-third edition shift, no conversion guide will be forthcoming
". I gather that to mean, "very different".

It looks considerably more like Saga Star Wars than 3.5. Beyond that, I'm not at liberty to say.
