|02:31 pm - Settling In|
We moved the last stuff (a pair of thyme plants in a garden bed) out of our old apartment yesterday, and when I turned in the keys, the eccentric guy who was our landlord complimented us on our cleaning job and mentioned that he only needed to do some very minor cleaning, which strongly implies we'll get all or almost all of our deposit back, which is definitely useful. So, now we're fully here and it's time to unpack and finish painting the new basement rooms, which is almost done.
I have needed to use the gps on my phone several times to navigate Ladd's Addition (having wikipedia entries on every Portland neighborhood that I've ever lived in is simultaneously bizarre and useful). In any case, unpacking is perhaps 1/3 done, and more will be done this week. Things have also settled down sufficiently that I can get back to regular writing (I took a week and a half off to move). Life is good.
