Of all the CJ Cherryh books, why Serpent's Reach? Not that it's not a good book, but why that one in particular? ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/3742064/303965) | From: | heron61 |

It's the first of her Alliance Union books from the Union PoV that I read, also I've a weakness for both well done aliens & immortal protagonists. Dreamsnake is the only one of those I've read. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/3742064/303965) | From: | heron61 |

I suspect that you might like Benford's Center of the Galaxy series (Across the Sea of Suns is the 2nd of these), and Serpent's Reach. I suspect the rest aren't your sort of thing. 1. Auntie Mame - Patrick Dennis 2. The Bible 3. Grimm's Fairy Tales 4. Good In Bed (forgot the author) 5. Let Me Be a Woman - Elizabeth Elliott 6. The Story of O - Pauline Reage 7. Stairway To Hell - Rick Jones 8. Exquisite Corpse - Poppy Z. Brite 9. Drawing Blood - Poppy Z. Brite 10. The Total Woman - Marabel Morgan 11. The Book of the Law - Aleister Crowley 12. Needful Things - Stephen King 13. The Stand - Stephen King 14. House of Stairs - William Sleator 15. Dorrie and The Goblin books - Patricia Coombs ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/103994735/8029978) | From: | tanwyn |

Oh, I love Diane Duane. I'll confess I don't much of the rest on your list, though I recognize a good many authors. |
