12:12 am - A Hot Day & Star Trek in the Park
Starting yesterday, Portland has entered a major heat wave - it's been in the mid 90s for the last 2 days, and it's predicted to be 100 for the next three. Nevertheless, I went with amberite, Aaron, xtricks, and athenian_abroad to Star Trek in the Park, which was a well done rendition of the classic old Trek episode Amok Time (the episode where Spock entered Pon Farr). They'll be performing Space Seed (the episode the introduced Khan) next year. It was a lot of fun and was done for donations (we all donated). Thankfully, the area was exceedingly shady, so the temperature was no too horrible, and the pastel pink Voodoo Doughnuts truck was sitting at the corner doing a very brisk and delicious business. It was also wonderful to see so many people at this show. I dearly love this city. Meanwhile, teaotter & our good friend hereville went to see the film Moon, which was playing 2 blocks from where we live - they both say that it's excellent and highly recommend it. In any case,

That's awesome! It looks like everyone is having a great time despite the heat.
