03:19 am - Nokia n810 in need of a good home
Last year, I purchased a Nokia n810 internet tablet. It's a lovely device – the 4.1" 480x800 screen is beautiful, the keyboard is easy to use, it plays music (using the Canola program) well, and it loads full web-pages, not mobile versions of web pages like most phones (iphone and ipod touch included). It works well as an ebook reader (using FBReader), and when plugged into your PC, the miniSD card can be used just like a flash drive, making file transfer simple. I also have the Garnet Palm emulator on it, allowing me to use Palm memos, calendar, and address book. Also, there's even a program that allows me to type SMS (text messages) on the keyboard and send them to (certain) bluetooth phones (the n810 is not a phone, but you can use it with Skype [I have done so, and this app is included], but the built-in web cam does not work with Skype).

However, I haven't used it in a month. My new Ipod Touch works better for what I use it for. The n810 isn't perfect, it's not as fast as my Ipod Touch for web browsing (both because it has a slightly slower processor & because it uses full web pages (but the n810 keyboard is definitely better), and while it has GPS, it can take up to 20 minutes to get a gps lock, so it's not actually useful unless you pair it with a phone with a data plan so the AGPS can work (which speeds things up somewhat). It's a solid device, but it's also one I don't need, and in addition to wanting to get money for it, I also dislike the idea of perfectly good devices sitting around and gathering dust.

I also want it to go to a good home, so before I put it up on ebay, I'm offering it here. The n810 has been used exclusively with a leather case and a screen protector, meaning that it looks like new and everything works perfectly. It comes with a charger, a usb cable for connecting it to a computer, a screen protector, a leather case, and an 8 GB miniSD card that also works perfectly. I've never had a problem with it, the battery is in good shape (it runs for 7 or 8 days on standby and around 5 hours if used constantly). So, it's yours for $180.00 (priority mail shipping with insurance is included for that price if I'm shipping it anywhere within the US). The first response gets it. Don't pay me until we've settled that you've gotten it.

Here's a selection of photos:

The smudges on the screen are all on the screen protector. I'll also send along a spare screen protector (not shown in photos, it's unused & still on a card), if you want to see if you can do better with the screen protector.
