 | 06:55 pm - Modern Music With the demise of my old CD deck, I've largely used my stereo for listening to the radio - Portland blessed with a radio station that is actually worth listening to, regularly playing songs from other decades and other music rarely heard on the radio. For other music, I've been listening to music on my ipod or computer. However, it occurred to me that it would be actually useful to listen to my own music on my stereo, since my parents are sending me out some old but absolutely lovely magneplanar speakers that I've coveted since I was a teen, and which I recently found out have been sitting up in my parent's attic for a decade (but which still sound wonderful).
In any case, digging in a box for a cable and connecting it allowed me to play my ipod through my stereo and does the same for Becca & Alice's music. What I'd prefer is a stereo that included a slot for SD cards and touchscreen (which seem only to exist for cars), but this works nearly as well. I've owned and played (in order) 8 track tapes, records, cassette tapes, CD, and now I suspect that I'll not bother playing music as anything other than low compression mp3s. At this point, CDs are merely devices for loading music onto my computer and ipod. Such is modern life. Current Mood: pleased

Kink, 101.9 (which does all manner of niftyness, like playing music by decade or in alphabetical order). |
