02:25 am - Dr Who & Various
We watched The Beast Below (the 2nd episode of the 11th Doctor), and it was amazing - Moffat at his best - Liz was very cool, Amy Pond got to be really smart and save the day, and it was overall awesome Doctor Who. I loved it and very much prefer Moffat being in charge of the show - as I expected, he's a whole lot more humane than Davies, and that's a very good thing indeed.

In any case, while Doctor Who was excellent, life has been more mixed. On the negative side, at this point, all three of us are having money troubles - not utterly dire, but far from good, which deeply sucks. Also, amberite's cat Batty is happy, eating well, and active, but his last two sets of kidney numbers were quite bad, so we fear he won't be around more than a couple of months. However, he is happy & feeling good now, so that's something.

On the far more positive side, we got a very impressive amount of cleaning and reorganizing done in preparation for shadowmorphic's visit, and that feels good - it was much needed and I'm very happy with what we got done. Also, shadowmorphic arrived today, and it was wonderful beyond words to see her again. Also, while Becca isn't good keeping in contact with people via email or phone, seeing how close she and Jade are when they are together makes me happy. This should be a good week.

I hope you have a lovely visit with Jade!

I'm glad to see Batty is happy and eating. Yay kitty!

Just finished watching "The Beast Below," and I agree. It was a wonderful episode, and I'm very happy to see more of Moffat's work.

I finally got a chance to see the first two episodes of the new Dr. Who last night and I have to say I was impressed as well. In many ways I think it's a bit closer in feel to the old Dr. Who episodes. It has a little bit of the cheese factor but more importantly the doctor is more the doctor that I remember. I think you're right, he's more humane, or maybe we should say he's more "human".
