I'm finally off of the vicodin. However, on a couple of occasions, when I've sniffed to clear a stuffy nose, I felt a gentle tug around the removed tooth – which is utterly terrifying. I have no idea if this is a bad sign or not – clearly it's far better than air whistling through a hole, we shall see on Wednesday.

In other news, I'm getting exceptionally tired of soft food. However, it has encouraged some interesting adventurousness. There are several recipes for root vegetable pastes like the famous fufu. The most interesting were versions with additional ingredients, including one that was a mixture of cassava, avocados, tomatoes, shallots, & coconut milk all mashed together. I was uncertain if the result would be delicious or hideous glob, and not wishing to make my loved ones hideous glop for dinner, I avoided it. Having largely exhausted the portion of my standard repertoire of recipes that includes very soft food, I decided to make this for dinner – topped with chorizo (veggie for Alice, pork for Becca and I, and we all loved it. Definitely on the list of food to make again. Not having cassava around, I used purple yams, so the color was rather alarming (bright purple, with small green flecks, the tomatoes were thankfully invisible), but it was nevertheless quite delicious.

Over the weakened, baxil visited on Saturday evening, after some extended hiking. I'd not met him before, and was very pleased. While it's hardly surprising that all three of us would get along well with someone who is a geeky draconic otherkin, it was a wonderful, if too short, visit, but also demonstrated, that even on low dosage vicodin (which I was on Saturday) I'm more mentally impaired than I am easily aware of. In other excellent news, Becca is finally almost finished with her novel, with just a couple of thousand words left, and a fairly clear vision of how the last scene goes. Having Becca be more available & not stressing about her novel will be wonderful, as will be finishing reading this novel. Also, once it's finished, she'll be starting her latest RPG, which I'm definitely looking forward too.

baxil! Glad you all had a lovely time; I've been threatening to acquire him plane tickets and drag him out for a Thresholds for *years* now so I can finally meet him after all the years I was raised by dragons on the internets. Maybe someday I'll actually get around to it.
