The nuke_our_cat auction goes well, and if it continues as it has been, we'll be able to afford this w/o wiping out Becca's savings (Becca being the only one of us with savings). Becca will be making an appointment for Buddy to get nuked either Monday or Tuesday, and so it should happen this week. I have full confidence that it will go well, but I'm less certain that the thyroid medicine is the cause of his weight loss. There might be something the (many) tests have missed – cancer, some exceedingly rare problem, and so we might be spending a lot of money for nothing, and more importantly, he might die quite soon anyway. I've owned enough cats to be sad but not devastated, but Buddy is Becca's first cat, who she has had for the last almost 16 years. Buddy doesn't look like a dying cat, and so I think there's a very good change all will be well, the difference between likely and certain is one that is scaring me.

It's odd now, I have a lovely project for White Wolf, at least one more project with another company I like working with to immediately follow it, when I'm done, there is a very nice possibility in other areas of my life that looks promising (but again the difference between certainly and possibility is difficult), but looking back on this last year I can see just how hard it's been for all three of us. However, for the last two years, my relationship with Becca and Alice has been absolutely wonderful. We are rapidly approaching the 5 year anniversary (on September 24) of when Becca and I married Alice, and it's clear to me that this marriage is as strong, wonderful, and positive as mine & Becca's. I just wish everything else wasn't so difficult this year.

As it turns out, it may be a couple of weeks before they can fit him in. In all the questions I asked them last week, I never thought to ask how long it took to get an appointment. Grr.

Didn't catch this till now. Do you still need cat money? I'm in college, so made of cash I'm not, but I could probably throw $10 your way.

Thanks muchly for the offer, but we did wonderfully with the auction and it turns out to cost a bit less than we thought (the listed cost includes several hundred dollars of tests that we've already had done on him).
