|02:20 pm - Holiday Stress|
2010 continues to suck in new and every more creative ways. This year, my parents were going to come out to visit us, rather than Becca and I or all three of us visiting them. Best of all they'd be staying in a hotel, so we could have some time away from them to recover. However, my dad just talked to his cardiologist. He needs a pacemaker, and his cardiologist is advising him not to travel before he gets one. So, my parents are freaked, and their answers are either to come anyway, but for reasons that make no real sense to me, to stay with us instead of at a hotel, or to have Becca and I come and visit them on a last minute ticket. From my PoV, both options suck. Also, since Becca is hand-feeding Buddy to get his weight back up, I rather doubt that she'd be willing to travel, which means that I'd likely be going alone. In any case, given that I'm also recovering from minor food poisoning today, today isn't shaping up to be any good at all.
Current Mood: stressed
Oh, lordy. I don't suppose there's any way at all you can beg off the trip and go maybe in January or something? (Or maybe the hotel is closer to the hospital?)
I'm sorry to hear about all this.
My best wishes for good outcomes. . ..

Oh gosh, that's terrible. It sounds like it would make for a trip no one would quite enjoy, so delaying the trip might be a better idea...
Can you just convince them to put off the trip? Not everyone gets to "go home" for the holidays. Might as well aim for the most mutually enjoyable visit possible. Note the word possible.
That's rough. My holidays are shaping up to be miserable as well.
I saw this thing
and thought of you guys. I don't know how close or likely to patronize the place you are, but I could see you trying to enjoy both tea and books, and being hit with a $252 towing fee.
