 | 01:28 am - A Lovely Cake and a Fascinating (& Yummy) Culinary Abomination A few months ago, I saw a video on the monstrosity known as the cherpumple, I knew that was too much, but the idea intrigued me. So, I vowed that when it came time for my birthday cake, there would be two cakes, one made by my good friend xtricks (between the two of us, we make birthday cakes for him, teaotter, amberite, Aaron, and myself).
Today was birthday cake time. Daire made me a lovely ice cream cake with mango-tangerine sorbet and coconut ice cream – it was lovely and delicious and all five of us enjoyed it greatly. I also made a "chercake" – a cherry pie baked inside of a vanilla cake. I ran a bit short on time, so it was still warm, and while actually fairly good, it also seems like it will be much better chilled. Since Aaron and Alice are gluten free, Becca eats only small quantities of sweets, and Daire was appalled by the idea of the "chercake", I'll have plenty left to eat (as well as the remaining third of the ice cream cake.

As a side-note, I tried some a while ago, and the chercake is indeed considerably better chilled. The ice cream cake was delicious, despite containing absolutely no actual ice-cream. The coconut ice cream was one of the recent brands made from coconut milk that first appeared about 2-3 years ago, and have completely rocked by dairy-allergic world. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/86826566/1749279) | From: | anomali |
