12:53 pm - Nifty Tech
I enjoy reading books on my Dell Streak, and for my birthday I got a lovely Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (which is the perfect size for both reading RPG PDFs and web browsing), and own no e-ink devices - I'm simply not satisfied with the technology. However, that's clearly changed. The Cybook Odyssey has both a multitouch screen, an e-ink display that reacts far faster than current models, and looks very impressive indeed. Given I like my current solutions, I'll likely wait until B&N come out with a Nook with this sort of screen, but I'm quite impressed. Combine this with a 4:3 6" flexible folding screen that folds down into a phone, and you've pretty much got my vision of the ultimate portable device (at least until display glasses or contacts are available).

The only other tech I'm eager for is the Samsung Galaxy Note, another 5" phone to replace my wonderful Dell Streak. With both considerably higher screen resolution and what sounds like a vastly better camera, I'm looking forward to it. Of course, as with all new high-end Samsung products, it's currently ludicrously expensive, and so I'll likely get it 8-12 months from now, when around half it's current price.
Current Mood: impressedimpressed
